Rebecca Catalina

Rebecca is marked by her long black hair, which she is notably never shown wearing loose. Curiously, across her appearances she is also never depicted in a military uniform, setting her apart from her fellow soldiers by always turning up in civilian clothes.

For all her skill on the battlefield, Rebecca's heart is set firmly on romance. She spends much of her screen time grumbling about being single and pestering Riza to help her meet someone, declaring that her real ambition is to land a handsome catch and leave the army behind. Even mid-mission, loading a grenade launcher during Mustang's uprising, she complains that the capital has produced nothing but cowards instead of the eligible bachelor she came for. Sharp-tongued and easily provoked into banter with Hawkeye, she nonetheless proves dependable when the fighting begins.

A soldier stationed at the Eastern headquarters under Lieutenant General Grumman, Rebecca first surfaces in a bonus chapter and is referenced in Hawkeye's coded message to Mustang before taking a real role in the plot. Grumman sends her to Central City on a covert errand carrying word about the united eastern and northern forces and the Promised Day, which she passes to Mustang by slipping a note into Black Hayate's collar mid-conversation. She returns alongside Maria Ross as reinforcements for Mustang's rebels, delivering a disguised truck packed with heavy weaponry on Havoc's orders. Caught in the nationwide circle's activation, she is restored by Hohenheim's countermeasure, and afterward visits Riza in the hospital to fill her in on how the rebellion and its coverage played out. A closing photograph shows her together with Breda and Havoc.
