How We Collect Data

First-Party Analytics

We primarily use our own in-house analytics system to understand how our Service is used. This data is collected directly by us and stored on our own infrastructure.

Third-Party Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to supplement our data collection and analysis. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to help us understand traffic patterns and improve our Service. The information generated by these cookies, such as the pages you visit and general usage data, is transmitted to and stored by Google. For details on how Google processes this data, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

  • Where the law requires consent for analytics cookies, they are set only after you give that consent, and you may withdraw it at any time.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain your session and preferences
  • Remember your language preference
  • Collect analytics data
  • Serve advertising, where advertising is enabled

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, though some features may not function properly.

Third-Party Services

Advertising

We may display advertising served by third-party vendors, including Google. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Service or other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Service and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google in Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by other participating vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, they are set only after you give that consent, and you may withdraw it at any time.

Advertising vendors act as independent controllers of the data their cookies collect. Review how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites for details.

Embedded Content

Our Service includes embedded content from third-party platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. When you view or interact with this embedded content, these platforms may:

  • Set their own cookies on your device
  • Collect data about your interaction with their content
  • Track your activity according to their own privacy policies

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these platforms:

Content Delivery

We use Bunny CDN to deliver the Service and downloadable content such as ringtones and chord sheets. This service may log basic access information (IP address, download time) for security and performance purposes.

How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Understand how visitors use our Service
  • Improve our content and user experience
  • Respond to inquiries and support requests
  • Detect and prevent abuse or security issues

Data Retention

We retain usage data for as long as necessary for analysis and service improvement.

Wiki Feedback Form

Our wikis include a feedback form that allows users to report typos, factual errors, or suggest improvements to specific entries. When you submit feedback, we collect only the information needed to review and act on your submission: the page URL you are providing feedback about, the type of feedback (e.g. typo, error, suggestion), the text of your description, your language setting, and your IP address (used solely for rate-limiting and spam prevention). The feedback form does not request your name, email address, or any other personal identifier, and no account is required to submit feedback. Feedback data is stored in our database and is used only to improve the quality of wiki content.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of analytics tracking (via browser settings)

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@daddyjim.com.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to Know: You can request information about what personal data we collect and how we use it.
  • Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You can opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at privacy@daddyjim.com.

International Users (EEA and UK)

If you access the Service from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Service (first-party usage data), and your consent (Google Analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and optional push notifications in our mobile app; you may withdraw consent at any time). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our Service is operated from the United States, and data you provide is processed and stored in the United States. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@daddyjim.com.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for general audiences aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in compliance with COPPA. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Mobile App

Our Service includes the Daddy Jim Anime mobile application for Android and iOS. In addition to the usage data described above, the app collects:

  • Push notification token. If you enable notifications, your device is assigned an anonymous push token (delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Expo) so we can send only the notification categories you selected, such as new music or new articles. The token is stored together with your notification preferences and is not linked to your name or email address.
  • App usage analytics. The app reports the same kind of anonymous usage data as the website (screens viewed, interactions, device type, and language) so we can improve the app.

You can change or disable notification categories at any time from the app menu, or block notifications entirely in your device system settings. Disabling notifications deactivates your push token. Uninstalling the app removes the token from your device, and the associated server record becomes permanently inactive.

The app does not require or offer user accounts. The app does not access your contacts, photos, files, or precise location, and we do not sell personal data collected through the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
