Junior Centipede

The monster takes the shape of a giant centipede topped with a strangely human face. In its anime appearance, the long body is rendered in red.

Junior Centipede's inner character stays mostly murky, though a few traits come through. He extends genuine respect to Senior Centipede and to anyone who can beat him in a fight, Metal Bat included. A streak of arrogance also runs through him, a holdover from his cave days when his freakish growth convinced him he was the largest centipede alive.

Junior Centipede began as an ordinary centipede that swelled to unnatural proportions inside a cave, and the isolation bred an inflated sense of his own importance. Certain that nothing sat above him on the food chain, he held that belief until Senior Centipede crossed his path, after which respect replaced his pride.

He surfaced alongside Venus Mantrap at a restaurant during the Monster Raid, snatching up the young child of the Hero Association's sponsor while hunting for the sponsor himself. Before he could seize his real target, Metal Bat grabbed him by the coat and threw down against both monsters. The clash left Junior Centipede sprawled and gravely wounded. Even then he praised Metal Bat's power and pressed him on just how high he really ranked among the strong. Metal Bat never got the chance to finish the job, because Senior Centipede burst up from the earth first.

Though his exact disaster level was never recorded, his sheer bulk and his ties to the other centipede monsters mark him as a formidable being, and he could tunnel through the ground at considerable speed.
