Kazuko Tadashita

Kazuko wears her brown hair at shoulder length, and her eyes are brown as well.

Kazuko is loyal and encouraging, quick to share a dream and to split the cost of chasing it. Beneath her steady support she carries the very fear of falling short that troubles her friend, a worry she keeps to herself until the two women finally open up to each other.

Long before the episode, Kazuko and Hiromi study side by side with the shared aim of drawing for Studio Dive. When Hiromi longs for a set of pink and blue pencils prized by professionals, Kazuko covers half the price, divides the pencils into two cases, ties each with a ribbon, and seals a pinky promise that neither will open her set without the other's blessing. The pair eventually join Studio Dive, room together, and work on a Sailor V cartoon. Hiromi, secretly using up her own pencils and convinced she is falling behind, becomes the mark of Nephrite, who hides a youma inside her pencil case.

Hiromi turns cold, snapping at Rei and Usagi when they visit hoping for autographs, then gains the director's permission to stage the final scene however she wishes. To Kazuko's dismay, she chooses to kill off Sailor V and races to the rooftop, where she admits her insecurities and reveals she has burned through her last pencil. When Castor and Pollux possess Hiromi and drain her energy, Kazuko collapses. After the guardians defeat the youma, the two friends wake, confess they shared the same fear, and resolve to make only their finest work so no child's dreams are ever let down. The episode closes on their pinky promise set against a starlit sky. Kazuko takes her name from Kazuko Tadano, the animation director behind the episode.
