CharacterSailor Buri is a fish-themed Phage from Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, created when Sailor Iron Mouse pulled the Star Seed from a young woman named Alice Itsuki. She holds a first: the earliest Phage of the season and the first ever cleansed by Eternal Sailor Moon's signature kiss.
Appearance
Her design runs thick with fish imagery: a yellow tail, a hood molded into a fish's head, and a top shaped like a pair of pink fish pressed mouth to mouth, all worn above the sailor collar every Phage shares. Heavy cosmetics coat her face. The name plays on "Burikko," slang for an affectedly cute girl, while its first syllable, "buri," means yellowtail, which explains the marine costume.
History
Once Sailor Iron Mouse saw that Alice Itsuki lacked the Star Seed she wanted, she pulled back and abandoned the Phage to Sailor Moon and the Starlights. Sailor Buri went after Sailor Moon, who would not fight back for fear of hurting the Alice trapped inside. Sailor Star Fighter struck with Star Serious Laser and argued that a Phage could not be saved, that destroying it was the only mercy, but Sailor Moon rejected that outright and rescued Alice with her Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss, restoring the stolen Star Seed and the woman with it. As the debut Phage of Sailor Stars, she was also the first to fall to that healing attack.
