Battle Stadium D.O.N. is a Japan only crossover fighting game for GameCube and PlayStation 2 combining Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Naruto, the three D.O.N. franchises, rather than belonging to one series. Eighting and Q Entertainment developed it; Namco Bandai Games published it in 2006.

Crossover Roster

Twenty characters populate the roster, twelve available from the start, split evenly across the three franchises: eight from Dragon Ball Z including Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta, six from One Piece including Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Chopper, and six from Naruto including Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi, with each side rounded out by additional unlockable fighters.

Gameplay

Up to four players fight across eleven stages using a tug of war system built around glowing orbs: landing hits knocks orbs loose, and a percentage bar at the top of the screen tracks how much of the orb pool each fighter controls, with victory going to whoever grabs every orb or holds the largest share when time runs out. Special moves, transformations, and status altering items add variety on top of that core system.

Release & Reception

Namco Bandai Games released the game in Japan only on July 20, 2006, with a single player campaign built from five rounds of missions and full four player multiplayer support, though the PlayStation 2 version needs a multitap for more than two players. Weekly Famitsu rated both versions 26 out of 40, and outlets like Siliconera praised its accessible presentation while criticizing a shallow movelist and a tedious character unlock grind.
