Gameplay

The touch screen doubles as a mission map and as the input method for special jutsu, and some attacks can also be triggered by blowing into the DS microphone. Missions set specific win conditions, such as fighting with half health, protecting an ally, or finishing an opponent with one particular move, and culminate in boss fights against familiar series antagonists. A bundled Naruto trading card and a Movie mode for reviewing character techniques round out the package.

Roster & Regional Differences

Over 25 characters from the original Naruto anime are playable. The international edition, released in Europe as a trimmed Ninja Council European Version, cut roughly a quarter of the Japanese missions and removed or altered some content, including Kimimaro and the Sound Four's special attacks, along with Naruto's Rasengan in some reports. The game never reached North America.

Development & Release

Aspect Co. developed the game and Tomy published it. It arrived in Japan on April 27, 2006, with the European edition following on October 5, 2007. It builds on the gameplay of the previous two Ninja Council entries rather than changing the formula significantly.
