Tomy published the game in Japan on July 19, 2007 under the title Saikyō Ninja Daikesshū 5, and D3 Publisher brought it to North America as Ninja Council 4 on June 2, 2009. Europe used yet another name, Ninja Council 3 European Edition, reflecting how the series numbering diverged between regions.
