Nugire Yainu

Yainu's face is squarish, framed by small round spectacles, with his black hair slicked neatly backward. His usual outfit pairs a red shirt bearing the crew's jolly roger with plain trousers and shoes. For his final role he was dressed in the captain's coat, black with a red lining and the crew emblem on its shoulders. The likeness he bore to Kuro ran close enough that the Marines could not distinguish the two men.

He proved suggestible enough that Jango's hypnosis took hold of him with ease, sealing his fate.

As the crew's shipwright, Yainu handled the upkeep and repair of their vessel, the Bezan Black, marking him as the first shipwright the series ever introduced. The anime additionally shows him carrying a saber during the Black Cat Pirates' raid on Morgan's unit, hinting at some fighting capability.

Five years prior, with Kuro worn down by ceaseless Marine pursuit and ready to abandon piracy, Jango singled out Yainu as the ideal stand-in. Owing to his resemblance to the captain, he was hypnotized into believing he was Kuro and was then seized by Morgan, the lone survivor of a Marine crew Kuro had wiped out. Taken into custody and put to death, Yainu cleared the way for Kuro to start a fresh identity. His sacrifice was ultimately undone, however, once Luffy defeated Kuro and the Marines revived the old bounty. The character's name forms an anagram of a Japanese phrase meaning roughly "no false charges," a bleak pun on his end.
