Yuji Norita

Yuji is a young teen with brown hair and narrow, slitted eyes. When he turns up at the hotel and later the school festival cafe, he tops off his look with a red cap.

Spoiled and bored, Yuji started out chasing an image of cool through dancing and a few vices like smoking and drinking. His pampered upbringing left him poor at handling confrontation, and the whole persona masked how little confidence he actually had. His time with Nagisa reshapes him. He comes to see he needs no drugs to seem impressive, and even after learning Nagisa is a boy and nursing a broken heart, he chooses friendship, vowing to drop his childish ways and turn his advantages toward helping others.

Yuji's father is a widely recognized television announcer, and being raised among flatterers who cozied up to the family taught Yuji to read people and spot a lie with ease. Resentment toward his father's fame and luxury bred laziness, and his attempts to look impressive, including drug use, never freed him from that shadow. He first crosses paths with Nagisa on the hotel bar floor, where Nagisa is crossdressing to shield his female classmates during their infiltration. Smitten at first sight, Yuji buys him a drink, tries to charm him, and only embarrasses himself with a desperate dance that knocks a drink onto another guest, sparking a confrontation the girls quietly resolve. Nagisa advises him to keep striving without leaning on drugs, and Yuji tosses his cigarettes away as they part.

Later he tracks Nagisa to the Class 3-E festival cafe through hotel records, still believing him a girl, and is coaxed into buying much of the menu. When two visiting assassins arouse his suspicion, Nagisa finally admits the truth about his gender, sending Yuji off stunned yet refusing a refund. His sharp palate, built on a lifetime of exotic dishes, and his standing as the operator of one of the world's most influential food blogs then pay off, as a glowing review from him floods the class cafe with new customers.
