Reiko Terajima

Reiko wears her brown hair at shoulder length, sometimes bound into a small ponytail and sometimes left loose. The steadiest feature of her look is the white lab coat she is almost never seen without, a fitting nod to the science classroom she runs.

Summed up as kind but strict, Reiko is gentle and attentive toward students and colleagues alike, and she can bend the rules when it suits her, waving off Izumi Miyamura's account of his pierced ears with barely a protest. That warmth evaporates around Shin Yasuda. Where he is concerned she turns openly combative, and the contrast runs sharp enough that she will scold Yasuda over something while letting Kazuya Nakamine do the very same thing, offering Nakamine only mild, caring reminders.

Reiko's defining thread is her hostility toward Shin Yasuda, a fellow teacher whose fixation on high school girls she cannot stomach. Bent on shielding her students, she brands him a lecher, hunts for reasons to shout him down, and drops in on him again and again to confirm he is behaving, once looking in on his supplementary lessons three separate times even though every student present was a boy. She has said aloud, more than once, that she hopes he gives up teaching for good. Onlookers sometimes suggest the fixation hides romantic feelings, a reading both she and Yasuda firmly reject. The series introduces her around its fourth chapter and third episode, and it notes plainly that she is single.
