Akahoshi is a ruthlessly ambitious shinobi of Hoshigakure who murders the Third Hoshikage, seizes control of the village, and crowns himself the self-styled Fourth Hoshikage. Obsessed with the star meteorite's power, he revives the deadly star training and eventually fuses the meteor into his own chest.
Pale-skinned and gaunt, Akahoshi has a thin, bony face set with a narrow nose and blue eyes. He wears his lilac hair pulled back into a ponytail, and a blue forehead protector marks him as a shinobi of the Hidden Star.
Akahoshi frames everything he does as devotion to Hoshigakure, yet his loyalty is really a hunger to see the village rank among the five great powers. That ambition curdles into cruelty, since he is impatient, shortsighted, and willing to gamble the lives of the village's children for a shot at strength, blind to the cost of his choices. He kills the Third Hoshikage without remorse once his demands are refused, then publicly sneers at the dead leader as a weakling. In battle and while boasting of his crimes he wears a manic grin, fearing no consequence. After the meteorite is inside him he abandons even the pretence of serving the village, greedily claiming its power for himself. For all his violence, he prefers to manipulate people's feelings rather than overpower them, revealing a schemer at his core.
Akahoshi is a self-taught master of the Mysterious Peacock Method, shaping his chakra into a beast for attack or into wings for brief flight, and using it to bat aside and hurl back incoming shuriken. He can drain the chakra of his followers to strengthen himself and tracks targets as a capable sensor, and he handles a crossbow with lethal accuracy. Under the Third Hoshikage's rule he keeps both his skills and his role in the leader's death hidden. Once the ban on the star training is overturned, he reinstates it and conceals its lethal side effects, convinced the meteor will make Hoshigakure untouchable.
During the Star Guard Mission he hires Team Guy and Naruto to protect the meteor while secretly posing as a masked ninja, kidnapping Sumaru to bait out Natsuhi. His treachery unravels when Rock Lee and Tenten find the hospitalised Sumaru, and he later engineers Natsuhi's death after wringing the meteor from her. Cornered and increasingly unhinged, he blurts out that he murdered the Third Hoshikage, turning the village's adult ninja against him. He plants the meteorite into his chest to unlock its ultimate power, conjuring a dragon of star chakra that no one can match until Naruto shatters the meteor with a Rasengan. Left a prisoner in his own village, he is promised severe punishment alongside his accomplices Shiso and Yotaka.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
