Aniki leads the Moya Triad, three self-styled ninja who spend more effort chasing women than practicing their craft. The brightest of a hopeless bunch, he holds a grudge against Kakashi Hatake and cooks up laughably hazardous poisons in his fumbling pursuit of payback.

Appearance

Curved black sideburns and a receding hairline sit under Aniki's getup, hidden the instant he pulls on the uniform, whose white mask leaves only his eyes exposed. His gear is the Moya Triad's flak jacket and trousers.

Abilities

Despite billing themselves as ninja, Aniki and his two partners have almost no genuine shinobi ability, which showed when he passed himself off as an inn manager using a physical mask rather than the simple Transformation Technique. Stealth escapes them as well; Kakashi caught them lurking in a barrel to trail him and merely played along to coax the three bumblers into the open. Aniki ranks as the sharpest of the trio, faint praise as that is. Chemistry is his real talent, and he mixed up several poisons for use on Kakashi, though each brought a ridiculous effect, making its victim hiccup, laugh, or weep without stopping until it proved fatal. Actually landing the stuff defeated him: his hiccup-laced meal went uneaten because Kakashi sensed something wrong, and the laughing-poison dart he fired was dodged with ease.

History

Aniki first appears perched in a treetop beside his two fellow Triad members as they scheme their revenge on Kakashi, who had once stepped in to save a woman Aniki was clumsily trying to charm. The Triad tailed Team 7 through their out-of-village chores and into an inn, where Aniki's poisoned dish sat untouched and left him in tears, and later, in the bathhouse, his laughing-poison dart missed and struck a frog. Things worsened when Naruto made off with their uniforms, forcing the group onto their spare set. The following day, spotting Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke in the stolen outfits, the Triad took the children for more of Kakashi's enemies, and Aniki sprang from his barrel gripping crying poison just as Kakashi trounced his three students. Sakura covered the blunder by claiming they had dressed up to draw the Triad out, a story the credulous trio accepted, after which Kakashi brushed aside their begging, thrashed them, and left them roped to a tree in a dangling bunch, still stung that he never recalled who they were. He later resurfaces in disguise among the other Moya Triad members, greeting Shikamaru Nara and Temari at Tomiya Inn along with Okami.
