History

Not much is recorded about Aosa's skill as a shinobi, but he shines as a researcher, single-handedly devising a remedy that could end an entire epidemic, and as a mentor who passed medical ninjutsu to his pupils so they might carry on his work while he was gone. During that epidemic the daimyo had curbed treatment to enrich himself, so Aosa quietly produced a cheaper and stronger cure; once the ruler caught wind of it, elite assassins were sent after him and his students, and he handed his pupils the funds to reach trusted friends overseas before slipping into hiding. Later, waiting at a checkpoint for those students, he was met instead by Kawaki, who broke the news of Mozuku's death. Grief-stricken yet grateful, Aosa accepted the medicine the boy had refined together with the money left over, vowing to cure his homeland in Mozuku's honor, and Kawaki pointed him to the body so it could be recovered for a proper burial.
