Ashina Uzumaki

Ashina is an aged man with long white hair, a moustache, and a squared-off goatee. He wears armor in the style of his era over a long-sleeved black garment whose shoulders carry the crest of Uzushiogakure, a symbol later woven into the uniforms of Konoha's shinobi. The curved grips of two swords rise behind his back, shown bandaged in the anime, and a forehead protector bearing his village's mark completes his look.

Ashina leads the Uzumaki through the era when Konohagakure is established, and later generations credit him as the founder of the Leaf's sealing tradition, a mark of the esteem his mastery earns.

In keeping with his bloodline, Ashina specializes in fuinjutsu, and his handling of it is described as unrivalled. The anime shows him binding a rampaging beast in a matter of moments after he and his clan corner it alongside Hashirama and the Senju. The twin swords on his back suggest skill with a blade as well, and the extraordinary life force common to the Uzumaki lets him remain an active fighter deep into his sixties.
