Personality

Condor turns out to be well informed, aware of Sasuke's desertion of Konoha, of Naruto's two years of training, and knows just who Tsunade and Jiraiya are. Beyond that he tends to peck people on the head without let-up, with Naruto and Sasuke his usual victims.

History

Once someone's pet, Condor kept breaking loose, and every getaway honed him into a true ninja ostrich who taught himself to fight and to talk. Konoha teams were sent out repeatedly to fetch him, one of them pairing Naruto with Rock Lee, Shino Aburame, and Kotetsu Hagane, though in the end it was Kotetsu and Izumo Kamizuki together who subdued him. At first he could do little beyond furious pecking, which worked well enough on the Kanabun Gang, but he went on to build a whole taijutsu arsenal around his powerful legs, throwing aerial kicks, ground sweeps, and stomps that sent out shockwaves in a manner recalling Rock Lee. Sheer ostrich speed and fine chakra control rounded him out, letting him walk on water and even form shadow clones, enough to hold his own against chunin.

Two years on, he was regaling a clutch of ostrich chicks with stories of his feud with Naruto when Naruto showed up yet again to collect him, this time in the wake of Pain's assault on Konoha. He later stowed away aboard a ship bound for the Land of Lightning, where Naruto, unable to make himself understood to the island's animals, pressed him into duty as a translator in exchange for the freedom he craved. While Naruto found himself pursued over Armadiko, whom the beasts favoured, by Hippo Boss, King, Don, and Chuji, Condor used the commotion to slip off the island for good.
