Old age has left him squinting behind a bristling moustache and a long beard, his short hair a pale purple that spikes upward at the back. He favors a purple kimono and a hat stamped with his village's emblem, styled much like a forehead protector.
Personality
The anime paints him as a coward with little shame, ready to plead for his life and just as ready to wring money out of those who can least afford it.
History
In the anime, he is chatting up a geisha when the Lightning Group corners him over the wealth he has taken from the poor. They offer to spare him for a payment, but before any deal is struck, ninja from Kirigakure arrive, drive the group off, and rescue him.
Later, warned that Akatsuki may be moving on his village, he and his people ready themselves to leave and wait on word from Konoha before evacuating. The Fifth Mizukage, Chōjūrō, and other capable shinobi take up his guard; when he frets over the safety of the politicians and rulers, the Mizukage lays out the protection plan and puts him at ease. He is ultimately sheltered in a safe house alongside the rulers of the five great nations.
