Genshō Ryūdōin is a taijutsu prodigy and one of the three Ryudoin brothers, all bent on avenging their father's defeat and death at Might Guy's hands. He pairs blistering hand-to-hand skill with control over wooden puppets that can build entire castles around his prey.
Genshō cuts a striking figure with long white hair and unusual eyes, their sclera darkened and their irises a cold blue. He dresses in black pants and a black shirt beneath a dark grey jacket, the whole outfit draped under an open purple mantle trimmed in black along its edges. Guards cover his hands, a necklace of three large teeth hangs at his chest, a black teardrop is tattooed on his skin, and the index finger of his left hand ends in a claw-like nail.
A single obsession defines Genshō: hatred for Might Guy, the man who beat and humiliated his father, and the hunger to make him pay for it.
Above all, Genshō is a taijutsu genius, praised by both Might Guy and Rock Lee for soaking up new moves as readily as sand drinks water. His fighting draws on kenpo, a striking art built around punches and strikes to pressure points, and he moves fast enough to keep Lee from landing a blow while hitting hard enough that Lee chose to dodge rather than block. He can dissect an unfamiliar technique on sight and answer it a heartbeat later, countering Lee's Leaf Whirlwind by lifting a knee and dropping an elbow at the very same moment, though the raw speed and power of Guy and Lee at four opened gates still impressed him.
He backs that skill with puppetry, steering wooden dummies through charms fixed to their bodies so they strike at anyone who wanders near. On their own the puppets barely react to counters and rely on sheer numbers, and stripping the charm shuts one down, yet Genshō guides them as fluidly as his own limbs. Better still, the dummies can break into parts and reassemble into structures, anything from a modest house to a sprawling castle, walling off and isolating his targets; charged with his chakra, those walls held firm even against Guy's strength. He also commands a rarer trick his brothers lack, deceiving two foes into battling a wooden double secretly worked by their own ally so that comrades strike one another unaware. In the Third Great Beast arc he used exactly this, trapping Guy in a puppet-built stronghold and forcing him into a duel to the death against Lee, until Guy recognised his student, the ruse fell apart, and Genshō was carried off to the medical corps.
