Appearance

Though shaped like an ordinary crustacean, this summon is pierced by chakra receivers, one jutting from the upper left of its back and another from the lower right, a sign that Pain steers it. Its underside and the area around its mouth are white while the rest runs a reddish hue. Eight crab-like legs and a pair of heavy pincers support it, and jagged spikes crowd its lower back, dominated by one massive spine at the center. Its open mouth looks pitch dark within.

History

Nagato calls it up during Pain's clash with Jiraiya, where it fires Wild Bubble Wave to rinse the Toad Oil off Konan before the Sage can ignite it. Jiraiya finishes the beast with his Wild Lion's Mane Technique. The anime brings it back during Pain's assault on Konoha to run riot through the village. It also holds a distinction among Pain's menagerie, being the sole Animal Path summon that does not carry the Rinnegan in its gaze.
