Appearance

A beard frames Kontsuchi's face beneath light brown hair, and his grey eyes show no visible pupils. He favors a deliberately lopsided wardrobe: a red-and-white high-collared robe worn over a dark, zippered turtleneck, with one sleeve cropped short on the left while the other runs long on the right, and the hem dropping lower along his right hip. Black gloves, long trousers, and shinobi sandals round out the ensemble.

Abilities

Kontsuchi holds no formal shinobi training, yet he is far from helpless. When the crisis demanded it, he joined the Fourth Tsuchikage and Iwagakure's fighters to help bring down the Akuta, a sign of genuine capability despite his standing as an ordinary citizen.

History

Kontsuchi is on hand when the Fourth Tsuchikage takes a call from the Seventh Hokage, and he shares the leadership's worry over the three Konoha genin trailing Mitsuki's attackers. After checking on the ailing Third Tsuchikage, he confers with Kurotsuchi about handling the affair quietly and floats the idea of consulting his Anbu nephew, only to be knocked out cold by Kū's artificial humans. Kirara then traps him in a genjutsu and forces him to field every call to the Tsuchikage's office with the lie that Kurotsuchi is off on a private mission.

When Kirara's failing body breaks the illusion, he collapses, tipping off other officials that something has gone wrong, and he resolves to warn the neighbouring villages. Before he can, Kū's forces seize him again and overrun the whole village. Held captive, he plots with his fellow shinobi on how to shield the defenceless townsfolk. A masked man frees the Tsuchikage, who in turn rescues Kontsuchi and the rest, after which he joins the counterattack on the Akuta. Once the Fabrications are beaten, he attends the Third Tsuchikage's funeral alongside the Five Kage.
