Personality

Timid by nature, Mozuku carries convictions far stronger than his nerves suggest. Abilities

History

Mozuku studied under Aosa, a medical-nin in the Land of Calm Seas, where an outbreak of disease became a chance for the daimyō to profit by rationing care to only the richest. When Aosa quietly devised a cheaper, more effective cure, the daimyō sent assassins after him and his students, forcing Mozuku and the others into hiding to keep refining the remedy; their teacher funded a journey to friends abroad. On the way back they were attacked by Kurobane and Jujumaru and scattered, and Mozuku took shelter in Konohagakure.

Short on funds, he requested ninja protection for the trip home while claiming he was guarding expensive artwork, and Team 10 was assigned to him. He clashed at first with a late-arriving Kawaki but warmed to him after learning Kawaki was an immigrant who idolised the Seventh Hokage, opening up about his own devotion to Aosa. Ambushed again near the border, Mozuku learned his fellow students were already dead as Kurobane made off with the medicine. He and Kawaki gave chase, and when Kurobane launched a surprise sword strike, Mozuku threw himself into its path, dying as he begged Kawaki to finish the delivery and pressing his last coins into his hands. The medicine reached Aosa, who vowed to heal the nation in Mozuku's memory, and the boy's sacrifice pushed Kawaki toward becoming strong enough to make such losses unnecessary.
