Ponta

Ponta towers over his partner Sabu with ease, looming so large that Kisame Hoshigaki once took him for a bear. His coat is mostly orange, turning brown around the face, ears, feet, and tail, while a patch of white rings his mouth. Bandages wrap his front paws, and small black eyes sit above his snout.

In combat Ponta throws caution aside, charging straight at whatever foe happens to stand in his way.

While Killer B trains in enka under Sabu, it is Ponta who senses Kisame closing in and sounds the warning. He rushes the intruder at once, only to be put down fast, and soon finds himself engulfed by the Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave, one of Kisame's Water Release attacks. B eventually lures the Samehada-fused swordsman away from the pair, freeing them from the churning dome of water. Ponta himself was reworked from a scrapped concept named Pochi, a bear-like pet raccoon who, alongside a figure called Kintaro, had originally been slated to appear in place of Haku and Zabuza Momochi. The oversized axe drawn up for Kintaro was likewise reused as the weapon wielded by Sabu.
