Shinki is a chunin of Sunagakure and Gaara's adopted son, leading his own genin team. Trained by the Kazekage to master the rare Magnet Release, he turns Iron Sand into both shield and weapon and carries a fierce pride in living up to his family's name.
Green-eyed and crowned with dark, spiky hair, Shinki bears thin brows and a pair of red markings painted on his face that echo the symbols on Gaara's gourd; even so, he is regarded as strikingly handsome. His usual gear pairs a Sunagakure flak jacket with a brown, throat-covering bodysuit, a dark blue forehead protector, and black calf-high sandals, and he often drapes himself in a fur-collared black coat spun from Iron Sand.
The manga instead dresses him in a dark suit fitted with a lopsided chest plate, a long sash knotted at the waist, and bandages around his wrists and ankles. As a boy his face paint traced a bolt of lightning down one side, and he dressed in a cream top with long sleeves beneath a hem-draped poncho over light brown trousers.
Beneath a cool, composed surface, Shinki carries the steady bearing of someone far older than his years, a demeanor drilled into him by his upbringing under the Kazekage, and even his uncle Kankuro treads carefully around his temper. In the anime he began as a jittery, quick-tempered child, stunned that Gaara would show him warmth, and grew into the level-headed anchor of his team. Courtesy comes naturally to him, so much that he addresses even the Tailed Beast Shukaku with an honorific, and he wears his lineage with fierce pride, vowing that his squad will never shame Gaara's name.
Temari observes that for all his detachment, he treasures his family deeply and wants nothing more than to honor their legacy, ready to place a mission above his own heart. That pride can curdle into arrogance, for he has no patience for those he judges weak, holding back against lesser foes while lighting up with genuine excitement against a worthy one. Blunt to a fault, he readily points out others' failings and openly grumbles that the Seventh Hokage's gentle rule has softened Konoha.
Fearless even against the Otsutsuki, he chose to obey Gaara rather than charge Kinshiki and Momoshiki. Time spent alongside Boruto Uzumaki slowly thawed him, drawing out a warmer, more helpful side and even a grudging friendship, and his devotion to Gaara runs so deep that he once tore free of his father's own Sand Binding Coffin to shield him.
Shaped by relentless training under his adoptive father, Shinki is hailed as the finest ninja his village has produced, having absorbed everything Gaara could impart and, in certain respects, surpassed the Fifth Kazekage. Though he tends to stand still in a fight, he answers any threat that breaches his guard with startling speed, slipping past blows and countering at once, and his enormous chakra reserves let him string together demanding techniques without visibly tiring.
His uncle taught him the puppeteer's craft, and he fights beside a skeletal marionette that he steers with sand rather than the usual chakra strings. He is also skilled in sealing, tucking his puppets into scrolls and binding foes as mighty as an Otsutsuki with his Black Iron seals, a talent that later grew strong enough to hold a Kage-level opponent fast.
His signature power springs from combining Earth and Wind natures into Magnet Release, which he uses to command Iron Sand. Molded into a cloak around himself and his puppet, the metal shrugs off heavy taijutsu; unleashed, it surges into crushing waves that bind and bury a target, hardens into close-range strikes, or magnetically drags his iron weapons toward anything he has marked. He can also raise a floating platform of the substance, scatter sand eyes across an area for extra surveillance and shared sight, and, in the anime, charge his Iron Sand with a Lightning Release field to reinforce it.

We ranked the six most popular women of Naruto from worst to first, and our number one is going to start a fight. The official poll got it wrong....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
