Yoroi Akadō

Little of Yoroi's face is ever visible: a cloth mask covers his mouth and hangs at his neck, dark glasses hide his eyes, and he ties his forehead protector bandanna-style. He dresses in what seems to be his team's standard kit, a high-collared sleeveless purple shirt over a short-sleeved white one, an obi at the waist, purple pants, blue sandals, and purple fingerless gloves. Once he defects to Amachi, he trades all that for a plain sleeves-rolled shirt, trousers, and sandals, and his shoulder-length black hair is finally seen.

Yoroi's defining skill is chakra absorption, letting him siphon both the physical and spiritual energy of anyone he touches. He is skilled enough to bleed off Sasuke's chakra with the lightest brush against his hair, and the stolen reserves fuel his own demanding techniques. The anime widens his repertoire considerably, giving him the Demonic Illusion: Descending Hell Technique, which conjures an illusory ball of fire overhead to unnerve foes, along with water ninjutsu such as the Water Clone Technique and the Water Release: Great Waterfall Flow Technique. He also punches the ground to raise a paralysing shockwave against Shino.

Behind the Leaf disguise, Yoroi was a spy who had migrated to Konoha with Misumi to infiltrate the Chunin Exams as part of Team Kabuto. Within Otogakure he outranked Kabuto Yakushi and pledged himself wholly to Orochimaru, though he resented Orochimaru's favoritism toward Kabuto and mocked his choice to withdraw from the exams. Brash, boastful, and fond of toying with his opponents, a habit that often cost him the win, Yoroi cleared the Forest of Death phase and reported to Orochimaru before facing Sasuke Uchiha in the preliminaries. His absorption drained Sasuke and strained the boy's control over his cursed seal, yet Sasuke turned the tables with his new Lion Combo, leaving Yoroi carried off for treatment. In an anime-only return, he and Misumi resurface as guards and research aides to the former Orochimaru scientist Amachi, faces uncovered and wardrobes changed. Across that arc he twice clashes with Shino Aburame, retreating from a collapsing cave the first time and sinking beneath the water after Shino's insects overwhelm him in the second, his ultimate fate left uncertain.
