Summary

Deidara triggers his C4 Karura, releasing a cloud of microscopic clay bombs built to break down a target's cells from within, and assumes the blast has finished Sasuke. Instead, Sasuke slipped free using a Sharingan illusion. Now in the advanced form of his cursed seal, he drives a Chidori into Deidara from behind, deliberately sparing anything lethal so he can demand Itachi's whereabouts. His eyes, he explains, register chakra as color, which let him pick out the nano-bombs.

Key Events

The Deidara in Sasuke's grip turns out to be a clay double, and the real bomber springs from his clay bird to seize Sasuke's legs and seal him inside a fresh C4 burst. Sasuke escapes with lightning, but the particles already circulate through him when Deidara sets them off. Surviving even that, Sasuke recounts how he traced the weakness: reading the hand signs as an Earth Release, testing lightning against the clay spiders and later a buried mine, then jolting himself with his own Chidori to neutralize the bombs. He also corrects Deidara that the technique is Chidori, not the Lightning Cutter.

Notes

Drained of chakra, Sasuke fends off one last ambush and collapses, yet his unshaken calm enrages Deidara, who cannot stand how he and Itachi dismiss his craft with their eyes. Stripping off his shirt, Deidara exposes the stitched mouth above his heart and swallows his C0 clay, resolving to blow himself apart across a ten-kilometer radius so that both of them die. He detonates while declaring that true art is an explosion.
