Summary
Worn down by the effort of doling out Kurama's chakra while he shields his allies from Obito and Madara, Naruto ignores the fox's warning to ease off. Obito sneers at the purely defensive posture, but Naruto insists that having his comrades near fuels him and losing them wounds him deeply. Away from the fight, Madara thrills at the feel of Hashirama's chakra nearby, and Obito observes that the Ten-Tails can no longer be contained as it lets loose the Tenpenchii. Kakashi moves to smother the technique with Kamui, only for his one-time comrade to cut him off and drag him into a separate dimension, and he leaves the battlefield trusting Naruto to hold.
Though the Ten-Tails' attack lays waste to the field, the shinobi endure because of Naruto, to Madara's astonishment. The strain leaves the exhausted jinchuriki hurt, his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode collapsing and the alliance's borrowed cloaks vanishing with it. Detecting several tailed beasts' chakra inside him, the Ten-Tails surges stronger, while Hinata and other fighters form a wall around Naruto as Sakura mends his wounds.

Landing cleanly in the new dimension, Kakashi turns the tables on Obito and levels a Lightning Cutter at him, yet like once before he falters, drawing a taunt from his foe. Obito explains he can belittle Naruto's convictions only because he once held them himself, then reveals the buried truth behind Rin's death: Kirigakure ninja meant to turn her into a vessel and loose the Three-Tails upon Konoha, so she willingly stepped into Kakashi's strike to shield her village. He casts a genjutsu to show Kakashi the hollow within his own heart, promising that the Infinite Tsukuyomi can mend such emptiness, but Kakashi dismisses the dream as a hollow fantasy that betrays Rin's sacrifice.
Beyond them, dread grips the Allied Shinobi Forces as the Ten-Tails begins massing an immense Tailed Beast Ball.
