The second episode of Naruto introduces the Third Hokage's grandson, a boy chasing the Hokage title for his own reasons who latches onto Naruto after learning there is no shortcut to earning respect.
Naruto submits a ridiculous portrait for his ninja registration, and the Third Hokage tells him to shoot it again. When Naruto balks and tries to change the old man's mind with his Sexy Technique, the resulting nosebleed drops him. In storms the Hokage's grandson, bent on challenging his grandfather for the seat, only to trip on his own feet and blame Naruto for the fall. Konohamaru assumes his lineage makes him untouchable, so Naruto flatly punches him to prove otherwise.
Ebisu, the boy's tutor, dismisses Naruto as beneath his charge and urges Konohamaru to stay close to him for a fast track to the title, not noticing the boy has already slipped off after Naruto. Konohamaru shadows him around the village, but Naruto sees through the clumsy disguises, which impresses the boy into demanding training. Naruto shrugs him off until Konohamaru starts calling him "boss," then agrees. Afterward Konohamaru admits he chases the Hokage title so people will finally see him as himself rather than merely the Third's grandson.
On the office rooftop, the Third gazes at the Fourth's carved face while Iruka relays Naruto's belief that becoming a genin will change how the village treats him. The Third counters that people do not change so easily, and explains the fear surrounding Naruto: because the Nine-Tailed Fox is sealed inside him, many dread the beast breaking free or suspect Naruto is the beast itself. When Ebisu finally tracks the pair down and tries to drag Konohamaru away, Naruto sends shadow clones against him and floors the tutor with a barrage of the Sexy Technique. He then tells Konohamaru there is no shortcut to the Hokage seat, declaring the two of them rivals who will one day fight for it. A registration gag lists Naruto's ninja ID as 102607 rather than 012607, and the English broadcast censored the nosebleeds.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
