Gameplay & Presentation

Chidori vs. Rasengan carries over the turn based RPG systems of the first Naruto RPG game but redraws the cast with upgraded character sprites and adds several new playable characters who rotate into the party at different points in the story.

Release & Legacy

The game sold 121,321 copies in Japan, making it the 105th best selling game there in 2005, yet it was never brought to North America or Europe. The series skipped straight from the first game to the third when localizing: the original Naruto RPG became Naruto: Path of the Ninja in the West, and Naruto RPG 3 became Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2, leaving this middle entry as the trilogy's only Japan exclusive chapter.
