Gameplay

Fights are built around three character teams rather than single fighters, with players swapping members mid battle and pulling off special attacks through button combinations unique to each character. A wireless versus mode supports two players, and Training Mode lets newcomers practice combos outside of a match.

Story

The plot centers on Mugenjo, a mysterious tower that appears over Konoha, prompting the village to send ninja teams to investigate. Along the way players fight rival characters, work through minigames, gather items, and level up a roster of about 20 to 23 fighters, including Kakashi, Might Guy, the three Sannin, and Akatsuki members Itachi and Kisame.
