Ino-Saku-Sai

Ino-Saku-Sai is a specialized team out of Konoha that formed during Kakashi Hatake's tenure as Sixth Hokage. Ino Yamanaka took the reins on her own initiative, giving the group its self-styled leadership. The team remains active, and its name is a deliberate nod to the trio her ancestors made famous.

The squad's work centered on a tangled string of investigations. It began when Kakashi, sensing that a run of security breaches ahead of a budget meeting were inside jobs tied to an Anbu executive, put Sai on the case. Around the same time, alarming reports of Sasuke Uchiha menacing hidden villages led Ino and Sakura to look into whether he was truly responsible.

The threads converged on Kido Tsumiki, whose harvesting of Sasuke's DNA explained why sightings never matched the real man's whereabouts, so the full trio investigated him. When Kido abducted Sakura to lure Sasuke out, Ino and Sai were sent to find her. The chain of missions closed with the team, backed by Naruto and Hinata, moving to arrest Kido and Magire once the extent of Kido's crimes came to light.

Ino Yamanaka founded the group and led it by her own appointment. Sakura Haruno rounded out the core alongside Sai, and the three shifted between paired and full-team assignments depending on the task at hand. For the final arrest, they drew added support from Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyūga.
