Overview
Orochimaru orders this squad into existence for a single purpose: to seize the Three-Tails. Its ranks are filled from the toughest survivors of a battle royal Guren staged among twenty-one prisoners. When sixteen of those survivors later moved to revolt, Guren cut them down, leaving five fighters plus the boy Yukimaru under her command for the beast-hunting operation.
Role
Guren leads the group on its mission to trap the tailed beast, but the effort keeps running into resistance from Konohagakure's shinobi, who interrupt their plans again and again. As the campaign grinds on, four of the members lose their lives, and Guren comes to see how little Orochimaru actually cares about her fate.

Guren commands the unit and gives it its identity, with the young Yukimaru attached to the group throughout. Disillusioned with her master, Guren ultimately walks away from the Sound, taking Yukimaru and Gozu with her when she defects.
