Breaking from the series' fighting games, this is a turn-based tactical RPG. Two teams maneuver across an isometric grid in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem, drawing on kido spells and signature techniques, with experience handed out after each battle.

Story

Tite Kubo writes an original side story for the game. It centers on twin Shinigami Matsuri and Fujimaru Kudo, who earn posts in the 5th Division under their adoptive father, former captain Seigen Suzunami. Together they resist an Arrancar named Arturo Plateado who intends to destroy Soul Society.
