Gameplay

The game is a fast 2D fighter driven by a deck-building system: the player arranges manga panels on a four-by-five grid. Battle panels bring in playable characters, support panels add assist figures, and help panels grant boosts. Fighters carry Knowledge, Strength, or Laughter natures that beat one another in a rock-paper-scissors loop, with 56 of the 305 characters fully playable.

Reception

The game draws generally favorable reviews, sitting near 89 out of 100 on aggregate and standing as a well-liked sequel to Jump Super Stars. Ganbarion develops it and Nintendo publishes it, releasing in Japan on November 23, 2006. It never receives a North American localization, keeping it an import for Western fans.
