Gameplay

The event adds no new maps or modes; it layers Cowboy Bebop cosmetics onto the existing hero shooter. Players buy the skins from the in-game shop or unlock some pieces through event challenges, and the anime's music plays during matches while the event is live.

Premise

Blizzard pairs each hero with a Bebop character based on looks and role: Cassidy becomes Spike Spiegel, Ashe becomes Faye Valentine, Mauga becomes Jet Black, Sombra becomes Radical Edward, and Wrecking Ball becomes Ein, given away free once the event starts. An animated trailer recreates the anime's opening sequence in the same monochrome style.

Release

The collaboration launched March 12, 2024 and ran through March 25, alongside emotes and highlight intros for each skin. Coverage praised the trailer's animation and most of the outfits, with Kotaku singling out Sombra's Ed look and Ashe's Faye look as standouts. Blizzard brought the same skins and challenges back for a second run from August 26 to September 9, 2025.
