A threesome of middle school girls who fancy themselves hardened street toughs. Their swagger crumbles quickly, and a run-in with Arisa Uotani ends up reshaping the way all three of them carry themselves.
The Delinquent Trio is a set of three middle school girls, Takemura, Ito, and Ishihara, who style themselves as seasoned gang types. Their reputation rests almost entirely on posturing, and underneath the bravado they turn out to be surprisingly tender and easily rattled. A chance meeting with Arisa Uotani softens all three, though that gentler side really only surfaces in her presence.
The group first turns up trying to menace a stranger, only to bolt the instant Momiji Sohma starts rattling off German at them. Their real arc begins when they corner Arisa while she is out shopping, meaning to hound her over abandoning gang life and to goad her into a fight. Instead she schools them, pointing out that strength can be shown in far better ways, and cheerfully offers to set them straight. From that moment they idolize her, taking to calling her ane-san and even enrolling in school so they can stay near her. Natsuki Takaya has remarked that she wished she had found more room for them in the story.
Takemura stands tallest of the three, with hazel eyes and long, straight blonde hair swept into side-bangs across her face; she usually appears in a black mask and a pale purple dress. Ito is the smallest, marked by lime-green eyes, reddish-brown hair cut to the neck, and red-painted nails, wearing her uniform deliberately askew to broadcast her defiance. Ishihara keeps her dirty blonde hair at roughly shoulder length, slightly spiked with dark tips, and pairs lipstick with a plain uniform stripped of its ribbon and collar. Following Arisa's example, both Ito and Ishihara begin mimicking her, to Takemura's visible unease.
