Gameplay

The game blends point and click style exploration with a turn based RPG battle system, which is why fans often describe it as part adventure game, part side scrolling RPG. At the start of each turn the player chooses an action for every party member, and characters track both HP and a mental stat called MP; either one hitting zero knocks that character out of the fight. Battle options include physical attacks that hit harder with more MP, a Talk command that quotes manga dialogue to drain enemy morale or lift the party, and a tarot based Prediction command tied to each character's lucky item.

Premise

The story follows Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, beat for beat. Jotaro Kujo, his grandfather Joseph, and their allies travel from Japan across Asia to Egypt, fighting Stand user after Stand user in a race to reach and defeat DIO before he can kill Jotaro's mother.

Release

WinkySoft develops the game for Cobra Team, which releases it in Japan on March 5, 1993, and it is never localized elsewhere. As the first video game built specifically around the JoJo franchise, it predates Capcom's fighting game series by roughly five years and remains a Japan only release to this day.
