Fighting for One Piece

Game

Fighting for One Piece is a Japan-only PlayStation 2 fighting game. Unlike the chibi-styled Grand Battle series, it renders thirteen combatants in their anime proportions and stages side-view duels full of running, jumping, and signature special moves.

Genre: Fighting

Release Year: 2005
Japan Release Date: 2005-09-08

Gameplay

The game is a versus fighter shown from a side-on perspective. Each character can run and jump freely around the arena and draws on a personal set of techniques, including flashier special attacks. Its look sets it apart from many earlier One Piece titles, since the fighters keep their proper anime proportions rather than the squashed chibi style.

Flat-Out developed the game and Bandai published it. It arrived on PlayStation 2 in Japan in September 2005 and stayed a domestic release, never seeing an official launch in other regions.
