Gameplay

The DS fighter plays in 2D and closely echoes Ganbarion's earlier Jump Ultimate Stars. Seventeen characters are playable, and every one of them can also be summoned as a support, backed by a pool of more than forty five support characters that assist during a fight.

Modes

Play is split across several modes. The Great Pirate Grand Prix acts as the campaign, an arena mode handles straightforward bouts, a training mode teaches the systems, and network play covers both wireless matches and download play from a single card.

Development and Release

Ganbarion develops the game and Bandai Namco Games publishes it. It reaches Japan on September 9, 2010, and Europe on July 1, 2011, without a North American release. A follow-up, One Piece: Gigant Battle! 2 New World, later continues the line.
