Unlimited World Red is Ganbarion's 2013 action-adventure brawler where the Straw Hats explore the Island of Promises alongside a shapeshifting creature named Pato, battling the original villain Red Count Redfield after his escape from Impel Down. A Deluxe Edition later brought it to PS4, Switch, and Windows.

Story and Setting

The plot is original rather than a manga retelling, centered on the antagonist Red Count Redfield, a threat unleashed after Blackbeard frees him from Impel Down, giving the Straw Hats a standalone adventure outside the main storyline.

Release and Reception

The 3DS original launched in Japan in November 2013 and reached the West the following July, with PS3, Vita, and Wii U versions following; a 2017 Deluxe Edition brought it to PS4, Switch, and Windows. Reviews were middling, with Metacritic scores in the mid sixties to mid seventies and IGN awarding a 7.0, while the game sold a million copies worldwide by 2017.
