Gearsper

A short young man, Gearsper has spiky, light-colored hair. He wears a white vest over a shirt, topped by a helmet that shields his eyes and nose, its sides marked with lightning streaks and the letters ESP running down the front. A line of stitches crosses the middle of his face.

Timid and easily rattled, Gearsper frets openly about joining the raid on monster territory and doubts his own abilities, at one point wishing he had requested a handgun from the Hero Association before heading in. For all his nerves, he shows real bravery when it counts, ready to give his life to shield his fellow heroes from Nyan.

Gearsper joins the support unit backing the main strike team in the Monster Association Arc, and on entering enemy ground he lets Child Emperor know that King has broken off elsewhere. Swarmed and nearly killed by monsters, he is rescued by Bushidrill and Okamaitachi, and when others target him for looking weak, Mizuki and Superalloy Darkshine step in to guard him. As the team escorts Waganma to safety, Nyan attacks and knocks his headgear out of order. After Nyan batters the heroes, Gearsper's psychokinesis finally activates: he catches a falling Mizuki and lowers her gently, then rips apart a huge number of buildings and molds the wreckage into a rain of blades that buries Nyan, spending the last of his strength and collapsing. His output runs so high that Fubuki briefly mistakes it for Tatsumaki's. Later, evacuating the wounded by helicopter, he is set upon by Sage Centipede and links to One Shotter's broken visor to sharpen the marksman's aim against the monster. In the Psychic Sisters Arc he pushes back on the Blizzard Group's talk of the group Tsukuyomi, insisting espers treat it as nothing more than a myth. Rated only average, he owes his recruitment to his uncommon gift rather than his exam results, and he relies on an ESP Helmet to boost his power along with dowsing rods used to locate the Monster Association's hidden entrances.
