Korotan D Chapter 2

The graduates of class 3-E gather at the airport before their flight, and their familiar quirks are on full display: Sugino still pining for Kanzaki, Okajima still leering, and the friction between Karma and Terasaka as sharp as ever. They learn Kayano's project, Gold City, adapts a novel about a treasure-hungry hero who guards a Buddha statue for a Japanese girl he believes has fallen for him. Guessing the set resembles a temple, the group receives a booklet of candidate sites from Nagisa, and Takebayashi cross-references background details in Ritsu's gathered promo photos to pin down a likely temple, discovering along the way that the film features young star Jerome March.

On location, Jerome and Kayano, playing the girl Rin, begin a scene only to be stopped by the director, who chides Jerome for stuffing in needless ad-libs. Resting in the shade, Kayano is stunned to spot her old classmates arriving to watch. A scripted kiss between the two leads keeps stalling as she repeatedly turns her face away, forcing a postponement. During the lunch break the class praises her English, though Muramatsu's prying about the kiss and Karma's mention of Nagisa leave her red-faced. When Yada asks whether an international shoot is tougher than a domestic one, Kayano cites the language gap straining the scriptwriter, then hears an argument break out on set and heads toward it.

The reunited class travels abroad and uses Takebayashi's photo analysis of Ritsu's material to locate Kayano's temple shoot, learning that Jerome March co-stars. Their surprise arrival throws Kayano off during a delicate kiss scene, which is repeatedly delayed. Teasing from Muramatsu and Karma flusters her, and the chapter ends on the sound of a dispute pulling her back toward the set.

This is the second chapter of the Korotan D light novel. It advances the graduation trip by placing the class directly at Kayano's film location and seeds the ongoing tension around the Gold City production.
