Gameplay

Battles take place on isometric, tile based maps where players position a squad of characters filling roles such as attacker, defender, debuffer, and healer, then either play out turns manually or hand fights off to an auto battle option. Characters can equip Assist Cards for extra effects, and Stand and Ripple abilities carried over from the source material shape each unit's skill set. As a gacha style mobile game, new characters and cards come mostly from randomized pulls rather than direct purchase.

Ora Ora Overdrive gathers characters from Phantom Blood through Stardust Crusaders, with Diamond is Unbreakable and Golden Wind also represented, letting players relive familiar storylines through voiced retellings while freely mixing heroes and villains from different parts into one custom team. The game was announced in March 2024 and developed and published by gumi for iOS and Android, with pre registration opening in mid 2025 ahead of its Japanese launch on September 25, 2025. It quickly topped Japan's free download charts, passing 1.5 million downloads within its first month and reportedly earning around 700 million yen in launch week, with gumi outlining plans for a guild versus guild mode and a future PC version.
