Story and Setting

The Straw Hats run into a mysterious boy carrying a seahorse-shaped instrument that knocks them out. They come to on an uncharted island with no memory of who they are or how they fight. The crew has to unravel the island's mystery and recover their memories, aided by a former enemy, across ten stages set in familiar One Piece locations.

Gameplay

Players steer the Going Merry across the seas, taking on monsters and rival ships. Combat runs on a comic battle card system in which each fighter selects moves from a set of cards, and the resulting attacks play out as boldly animated comic panels backed by voice acting.

Legacy

Bandai published the PlayStation game, which reached Japan on May 1, 2003. Its story was later adapted loosely into the anime as the Ocean's Dream filler arc, and the game itself was remade for Game Boy Advance as One Piece: Dragon Dream!.
