This enchanted key originates with Sailor Pluto, sworn keeper of space and time. Chibiusa comes to carry one after lifting it from the chain Pluto wears, letting her slip backward through the years. In both the manga and Crystal, Pluto keeps a set of four of these keys strung on a silver chain at the waist of her black skirt.
Function
The key unlocks the Door of Space and Time and lets its holder move freely among the various timelines. In the manga and Crystal it also serves to summon Sailor Pluto directly. Using it involves a spoken incantation that appeals to Chronos, the almighty god of time and father of the guardian, begging him to split the heavens, throw the door open, guide the travelers, and grant them a path of light.
