Soul King Palace Residents

Scattered across the Soul King Palace is a group of minor figures who assist the Royal Guard in their duties. They are not fighters in the main conflict but specialists who make the guard's work possible.

Several are zanpakuto spirits bound to a single master, while others are ordinary souls kept on as loyal aides.

The bulk of these residents work under Oetsu Nimaiya as his assistants and bodyguards during the forging of zanpakuto. Each contributes a distinct step to the process, supplying fire, water, tools, and the labor that shapes an Asauchi into a finished blade. They also guard Nimaiya's palace and alert him to intruders.

A separate pair serves Tenjiro Kirinji, running the hot springs he uses to heal and restore visitors, even enduring the brutal effects of the water on their own bodies when he orders it.

Mera Hiuchigashima leads Nimaiya's spirits, breathing out great sheets of flame to fuel the forge and often kicking her prank-loving master into line. Tokie Tonokawa weeps to conjure the water that quenches hot blades, Hasuka Hashihara grips the Asauchi with hair she can stretch and control, Nonomi Nomino carves stone furnaces at blinding speed with her chisels, and the bandaged Tsumiko Tsuchimiya molds one of her own teeth into a black hammer. Serving Kirinji instead are Kazuo and Kazuhiro, identical muscular twins in protective suits who hold trainees under the healing water on his command.
