Sitara is a Section 9 rookie introduced through the Ghost in the Shell online game First Assault. Raised in the hard-pressed American Empire and drawn from a CIA counterterrorism background, she specializes in combat drones and keeps her own prosthetic body running.
Only partly cyberized, Sitara has black hair and blue eyes. In the game she is usually seen wearing the standard-issue Standard Ops loadout given to fresh recruits.
Coming of age inside the struggling American Empire hardened her instincts for staying alive, but it also left her awkward at forming bonds with others. That social distance tends to follow her into any new unit she joins.
Before Section 9, Sitara served in the Special Counterterrorism Unit run by the Central Intelligence Agency, though her career there hit a ceiling with nowhere left to climb. An opening on Aramaki's External Affairs team gave her the exit she wanted, and she took it. Her strongest suit is engineering: skilled enough with machinery to service her own prosthetic frame, she also backs her squad in a firefight by fielding automated drones.
