A Japanese voice actor from Kagoshima Prefecture born February 28, 1960, Tooru Ookawa voices both Roy Mustang and Bido in the Japanese original of Fullmetal Alchemist.
Toru Okawa provided the Japanese voice of Saito, the sharp-eyed marksman of Public Security Section 9, in Ghost in the Shell. His steady, world-weary delivery suits Saito's place as the squad's quiet, seasoned veteran.
Beyond Ghost in the Shell, Okawa is known for his extensive work as a narrator, a specialty that runs alongside his voice acting career. That range from character work to narration has defined much of his professional reputation in Japan.
Okawa attended Nihon University's College of Art and began his career performing as a stage actor. That theatrical background preceded his eventual move into full-time voice acting.
Okawa is represented by the Mausu Promotion talent agency, a move that redirected his career from stage acting toward full-time voice work. He remains with the agency today.
Toru Okawa was born in 1960 and has been active in voice acting since 1984. His career now spans more than four decades in Japanese entertainment.
