Baiu
CharacterBaiu was an Amegakure genin who fought under Shigure. Small in frame but brutally strong at close range, he met his end during the Chūnin Exams when his team had the misfortune of crossing paths with Gaara.
Appearance
Short and fair-skinned, Baiu peered out through tiny, beady dark eyes set in a browless face. He wore a pinstriped pale grey jumpsuit split down the middle by a black band, along with grey gloves and black sandals. An oxygen tank rode at his side, a modified kasa hat marked with the Amegakure crest topped his head, and a black sheath strapped to his back held the four umbrellas he carried.
Personality
Described as miserly, glum, and thankless, Baiu also brimmed with misplaced confidence in what he and Shigure could accomplish. He was eager to serve as the spearhead of what he saw as an elite unit.
History
For all his small frame, Baiu was a fearsome close-quarters fighter, boasting strength that outstripped even his fellow Ame-nin and letting him crush or strangle anyone in his grasp. That prowess counted for little during the second stage of the Chūnin Exams, when his squad ran into Gaara. Their leader Shigure, hungry for Gaara's scroll, badly misjudged his opponent, and the Senbon Shower he unleashed was turned aside by Gaara's protective sand. Gaara then bound the whole team in his Sand Binding Coffin and crushed the Amegakure genin all at once, ending Baiu's life along with the rest.
