Tekuno Kanden

Sturdily built, Tekuno has shaggy brown hair and wears the ordinary Konoha uniform with fingerless gloves. He leaves his flak jacket open over a utility sash that carries several scrolls, and like his comrade Hayama his shirt bears the traditional red swirl only on the left shoulder.

Tekuno comes across as easygoing, playful, and full of charm, quick to boast in good humor about his exploits, food never far from his mind. That levity drops away when the stakes rise, as it did once Hayama laid out the gravity of their assignment. He holds a strong sense of duty, protective of both the village and the ninja who rank below him.

Tekuno builds his fighting around heavy ordnance and cunning traps. He handles wire strings with real skill, threading them across a battlefield so he can ensnare several foes at once. On one mission he summoned a crossbow and a cannon to launch explosive-tagged projectiles, and he called up a handful of katana as well, suggesting he is no stranger to swordsmanship. That skill set proved its worth when his squad, sent to guard Konoha's northern edge after the Suna and Oto invasion, was ambushed by an Iwagakure battalion. Assigned to rig the surrounding traps, he held the enemy up long enough for his teammates to slip away and report, then stayed behind with Hayama to cut down dozens of the attackers. He resurfaces later helping rebuild the village after Pain's assault, cheerfully talking up his own heroics.
