Hildon

Wrapped in bandages over a bat-shaped frame, Hildon could take to the air thanks to a deep purple cloak that served as both garment and wings. Talons let him hang inverted, and his mouth held sharp vampiric fangs. His features included red claws, a long stitched nose, pointed ears, and eyes that looked sunken or ringed by odd tattoo-like markings. The numeral 21 sat over his right eye, while a stitch ran from his left eye up to his hairline. On his back, when he first showed up, he hauled a tall, long-necked bottle that resembled liquor. The overall effect read as vampire-like.

In casual company Hildon usually came across as friendly and courteous. He showed devotion to Gecko Moria, reaching out to him once the Straw Hats began striking back against the zombies. A speech quirk gave him a lisp, swapping deshi for desu, a detail dropped from the English versions. As a zombie, salt was his sole weakness, and his huge bat wings carried him aloft.

When three of the Straw Hats slipped away from the Cerberus, Hildon proposed driving Nami, Chopper, and Usopp by carriage to Hogback's mansion. They agreed, and en route he poured Nami wine and praised Hogback as a celebrated doctor. As the pirates spotted zombies in the woods, he claimed they were imagining things. At the graveyard, he and the zombies hauling the carriage deserted the trio, and Hildon flew off to the mansion laughing at their predicament.

Inside, he offered to guide them to the bedrooms, but his earlier treachery made them refuse. After Luffy was captured, Moria dispatched Hildon to fetch Perona, Absalom, and Hogback so that Oars' body could be animated, and he also told Absalom that Brook had come back. Following Oars' revival, Hildon flew in to warn Hogback and Moria that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji had woken and the crew was resisting with Brook's aid. He watched the Straw Hats topple Oars. Moria then unleashed Shadow Asgard, soaking up all one thousand shadows on Thriller Bark and reducing Hildon to a lifeless husk.
